Ann Blandford is Professor of Human-Computer Interaction in the Department of Computer Science at University College London, United Kingdom. She was awarded the IFIP TC13 Pioneer in Human-Computer Interaction award in 2020 and was elected to the ACM SIGCHI Academy in 2021.

With a strong emphasis on real-world problems, Prof. Blandford’s research contributions focus on the use of complex digital systems ‘in the real world’, with particular emphasis on critical issues such as human error, patient safety, and the use of (digital) information in a clinical context. Her work has been instrumental in promoting the importance of patient care and experience within computer science research.
